What do you do at AFL?

I manage all external communication with potential new clients, from website content, press releases, social media, and events, right through to proposals, tenders, and all printed marketing collateral.

I’m also a Mental Health First Aider in the practice, which hopefully helps towards breaking any stigma the industry has around mental health and wellbeing.

What do you think are the best skills that you bring to your job?

A lot of flexibility, in both workload and creative output. Writing a bid, writing a press release and writing a tweet are very different things, never mind while also dabbling in graphic design. I think it’s fantastic though – every day is different.

What’s your passion outside of architecture?

Writing. A lot of writing. I have a few fantasy and sci-fi novels on the go at the moment, which will probably be finished and published any year now. My deadline and marketing skills do not extend into my personal life, unfortunately!

If I’m not writing, I’m walking in the Peak District. Sometimes I speed up and do some running.
