AFL joins the Big Hospital Walk!

← Back to news & insight

Recently, the National Health Services celebrated its 75th anniversary, and as part of the celebrations, the Catherdale and Huddersfield NHS Charity encouraged their colleagues and connections to participate in the Big Hospital Walk on Sunday 9th of July. Given our dedication to supporting local healthcare organisations, we felt it was only natural for us to volunteer for this initiative.

The Big Hospital Walk started at the main entrance of Calderdale Royal Infirmary, covering a distance of 10 kilometres on its route to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary. Participants had the opportunity to traverse picturesque countryside along a scenic yet hilly path passing through Salterhebble, West Vale, Holywell Green, and Lindley.

Our AFL representatives, Martin and Neil, were delighted to contribute their assistance in ensuring the smooth running of the event. They were also able to enjoy some great weather throughout the course of the walk.

"Being present in the community is incredibly important, especially when working with with a healthcare facility. The community need to feel like they're being seen and heard, and the casual feedback we receive on projects is incredibly valuable. We're incredibly proud to be working with the Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Trust to put on such an amazing event."
