Bruce Caldwell

Associate Director

What do you do at AFL?

I’m an Associate Director and I run AFL’s London studio. As one of the practice’s lead designers and a sustainability champion I generate concepts and lead design development on schemes both in the UK and internationally.

With commercial and residential experience – but specialising particularly in sports and mixed-use developments – I am currently working on Millwall Football Club’s Redevelopment Masterplan, AFC Bournemouth’s state of the art new training ground and several sports pavilions and training facilities in China. I am also a Part 3 Mentor and Fire Marshall for the London office!

What do you think are the best skills that you bring to your job?

Hopefully the team and our clients will say a bit of a creative flair!

What’s your passion outside of architecture?

I love the great outdoors – especially being on the water – whether rowing, sailing or kayaking. I like to challenge myself and having done various runs, swims and even climbed Kilimanjaro for charity.
