Matthew Fallon

Senior Architect

What do you do at AFL?

I am a Senior Architect in the Sports & Leisure team and have delivered high profile projects such as the Bonus Arena in Hull and Leicester Tigers West Stand. I am currently project running the multi-purpose Swansea Central Digital Arena. The projects I deliver use cutting edge BIM techniques and advanced modelling/analysis software.

What do you think are the best skills you bring to your role?

My strengths are my organisational capabilities, problem solving and decision-making skills, hard work ethic and creativity. I absorb myself in a project so that I know its inner workings. This enables me to make the best decisions for the project: offering commercially-viable solutions for the benefit of the client and design team as a whole.

What made you interested in architecture?

I have always been good at problem solving and showed an artistic flair from a young age; I soon realised that architecture was a career which utilised these skills. Whilst travelling I have visited many amazing places, spaces and buildings; visiting the Guggenheim Museum in New York really instilled the importance of quality architecture and drove my passion for it.
