The natural texture and rich, warm tones of this material were chosen to blend in with the brick and terracotta cladding on adjacent buildings, whilst creating a unique appearance with a natural patina which will weather naturally over time.
The building has been designed with a horizontal emphasis to relate and connect visually to the existing buildings on the site. This also has the effect of reducing the visual impact and perceived height of the building. This horizontal element is expressed as a continuous ribbon wrapping over and around the glazing, creating a soft, undulating and dynamic form.
